Nestled in the serene woodlands near Chorin lies Gastehaus, a charming property that beckons families seeking a tranquil retreat. Our family of four recently escaped the hustle of Munich to indulge in the hotel's cozy ambiance and authentic Bavarian charm. While the exterior might remind one of an East German resort, the interior's warmth and hospitality quickly won us over.Our stay in the guesthouse, though with snug rooms, was pleasant. Mornings were ushered in with a decadent breakfast spread, featuring locally sourced ingredients - a delightful surprise for this Bavarian palate. The surrounding forest and proximity to Chorin cloister provided a perfect backdrop for leisurely walks and bike rides.Our little ones were enthralled by the Eberswalde Zoo, just a hop away, adding an exciting touch to our visit. The amiable staff ensured our comfort, going as far as offering transport to and from the train station.While the restaurant's fare was satisfying, albeit a tad pricey, the overall experience exuded homely warmth and Bavarian authenticity. Gastehaus offers the ideal blend of tranquillity, family-friendly amenities, and cultural exploration - a haven for those craving a genuine Bavarian escapade.
